JLS and Cheryl Cole won big at the BT Digital Music awards last night (30.09.10).

Girls Aloud singer Cheryl Cole was crowned Best Female and won Best Single for her solo debut 'Fight For This Love', while JLS took home Best Group and Best Video for their song 'Everybody In Love'.

Muse won big in the website stakes, taking home awards for Best Website and Best Fan site.

UK rapper Tinie Tempah - who is hoping to celebrate his third UK number one single in a row this Sunday (03.10.10) with 'Written In The Stars' - won the award for Best Newcomer.

Shortly after receiving his award, Tinie, 21, told BANG showbiz: "This means a lot because digital music is my generation, how I grew up - listening to and finding new music through the internet, as well as coming up through it - so to be recognised by the people who have voted means a lot."

Robbie Williams was named Best Male artist at the awards, while cartoon band Gorillaz accepted Artist of the Year and Best Artist Promotion awards with a specially recorded video message from bassist Murdoc.

Performances at the awards included US R 'n' B singer Ne-Yo - who took to the stage in a dapper suit, braces and a bowler hat to perform 'One In A Million', while British band McFly gave a rocking rendition of their latest single 'Party Girl'.

Other performers included Scouting For Girls, Roll Deep, and Marina and The Diamonds.

Professor Green - who won home the award for Breakthrough Artist - closed the night performing his new song 'Monster'.

JLS have admitted they would consider teaming up with The Saturdays to write and record a festive song.

(BANG) -

JLS want to duet with The Saturdays.

The 'Everybody In Love' hitmakers are close friends with the girl band - with their respective singers Marvin Humes and Rochelle Wiseman in a relationship - and would leave to team up to record a special festive track.

Singer Jonathan 'JB' Gill said: "Will we see a JLS/ Saturdays duet? Wow. I don't know but we'd do it in a shot.

"We'd love to do a song with the girls. A Christmas number one maybe? Watch this space."

The quartet are big Take That fans but can't imagine anyone leaving their group and rejoining later, the way Robbie Williams has done - but they admit they never know what the future holds.

Oritse Williams said: "Who would do a Robbie? None of us. We're all here to stay but who knows what the future holds.

"There are cycles for everything and Take That are a great example to follow. They disbanded, everyone went their own way and did different things, then they all came back together. What's to say that won't happen for us?"

JLS

JLS did not expect success in the US and claim they will happily work for as long as it takes to become successful across the Atlantic.

(BANG) -

JLS didn't expect to break the US market for "years".

The British boyband - who rose to fame on UK TV talent show 'The X Factor' - didn't expect US radio stations to play their music, and are prepared to work hard to turn the support into success.

Ortise Williams - who stars in the band alongside Aston Merrygold, JB Gill and Marvin Humes - said: "Coming to the States this soon wasn't part of our plan. We hoped it might happen in a few years, maybe once we had broken in Europe. Then radio stations started playing our music without knowing who we were.

"We were offered a deal and asked to come and meet the people supporting us.

JB added: "We're not complaining. Even to be given an opportunity over here is amazing. We're starting from scratch and we don't expect success overnight.

"We'll do this for a year - or two or three, if that's what it takes. We'd rather do it right than rush it.

"It can be hard to get up at 4am when you've been working until 1am, but we're four best friends who get to sing every day and see the world. We're having the time of our lives and we're determined to enjoy every second of it."

The band also relish the opportunity to meet people in the US, and think of everyone they come into contact with as a "potential fan".

Williams added to Culture: "We consider everyone we meet a potential fan. Plus sometimes they give us free meals."
