This sensational film, Black Swan, features possibly Natalie Portman’s best performance ever in her role as dancer in New York’s most prestigious ballet company. This DVD is based on Tchaikovsky’s legendary and timeless ballet Swan Lake. In the story Nina (Portman), who won the Academy Award for Best Actress in her performance in this film, auditions for the lead part that plays both white swan and black swan. Her angelic and controlled precision in her dancing lends her favourably to the white swan role, where Mila Kunis who plays Lily suits the aggressive and sinister personality of the black swan. Black Swan on DVD is a physiological thriller, brilliantly directed by Darren Aronofsky, which boils with emotion and determination behind the scenes, driving superbly realistic performances from Portman and Kunis.
