From producer Judd Apatow (The 40 Year Old Virgin, Knocked Up) comes Bridesmaids; an entertaining comedy built on genuine character, gross gags and heartfelt pathos the audience can relate with. The story follows Annie (Kristen Wiig), a hopeless romantic singleton who fears she is losing her best friend, Lillian (Maya Rudolph) who has recently gotten engaged. When Lillian becomes close friends with wealthy and beautiful Helen (Rose Byrne), Annie’s anxieties deepen, though romance does appear to be on the cards with a charming Irish police officer Rhodes (Chris O’Dowd). Annie experiences mixed emotions as whilst she strives for the first love of her life, she also senses her important friendship with Lillian slipping away. As you would expect from producer Judd Apatow, there are laughs all along the way in this refreshing approach to the ‘chick-flick’ genre.
