Synopsis
Gulliver’s Travel is a side-splitting fantasy comedy based on the 18th century novel by Jonathan Swift. Brilliantly directed by Rob Letterman, the story begins with Lemuel Gulliver (Jack Black) in a dead-end job in a New York City mail room. When he sees his friend Dan (T. J. Miller) promoted above him, he takes action on his aspirations to become a journalist and speaks to Darcy Silverman (Amanda Peet), who sends him out to the Bermuda Triangle to investigate unsolved disappearances. Instead of discovering extraterrestrials as they initially suspected Gulliver hits a storm and washes up in the land of small people. His journey sees him escape from prison and hailed a hero for rescuing the queen of the tribe. We expect nothing else but ridiculous comedy from Jack Black and he certainly delivers this in abundance. Gulliver’s travel on DVD is a brilliant and hysterical modern adaption of this well tale.
