After attending a comic convention Graeme Willy (Simon Pegg) and Clive Gollings (Nick Frost) head into the desert to do some sightseeing of extraterrestrial importance. On the highway they encounter a car that flips over and stop to investigate. Paul, a little green alien, suddenly appears and joins the duo in their bizarre journey across the US all the way trying to hide Paul. The police are hot on their tale outside area 51.
