Shane Meadows' much loved creations; Shaun, Lol, Woody and the gang, return for this three-episode Christmas special. THIS IS ENGLAND '88 is set eighteen months after the events of the last critically acclaimed series. Lol (Vicky McClure) is still reeling from Combo's arrest and the circumstances around it, which has taken its toll on her relationship with Woody (Joseph Gilgun). Meanwhile Shaun (Thomas Turgoose) is enjoying new horizons at college, something which threatens to come between himself and Smell (Rosamund Hanson). All of this takes place in the run-up to Christmas 1988-style, so expect more of the gritty nostaglic comedy-drama that the THIS IS ENGLAND franchise does so well.
