Synopsis
Capture and breed monsters before sending them into battle in Dragon Quest Monsters - Joker.
Hugely popular in Japan, the Dragon Quest Monsters series has drawn many comparisons to other role playing games such as Pokémon. Joker sees the player exploring seven different islands collecting Darkonium crystals so that they are eligible to compete in a tournament to prove themself as the ultimate monster scouter.
Making the transition into 3D for the first time, Dragon Quest Monsters - Joker pushes the DS’ graphical capabilities to its limits. On their quest to find Darkonium crystals players will have to fight a number of enemies in turn based battle, using three monsters in their party whom they have scouted during battle, bred (or synthesised). Fighting enemies increases the strength of the monsters, and as players work their way through harder dungeons they will encounter more difficult enemies. Joker is also the first game in the Dragon Quest Monsters series to implement online play, and players can participate in multiplayer action using the DS’s Wi-Fi function.
Dragon Quest Monsters - Joker has revolutionised the series with the graphical overhaul and the introduction of online play. Gamers will find lots to do in this title as they attempt to scout all 210 monsters featured within the game.
