Pokemon Mystery Dungeon - Explorers of Time

Synopsis

The seminal Pokémon series has retuned to handhelds in this dual entry into the franchise.

In Treasure Town, players will awaken on a beach with no memory of how they got there. As a Pokémon walks over and starts talking, they’ll find that they too have become Pokémon. An evil force has arrived in town to steal the Time Gears - a power that will plunge the world into a never ending darkness. It’s up to the player, now in new Pokémon form, and their party of allies, to seek out this force and prevent it from stealing the gears.

Rather than follow the traditional structure of a Pokémon game (where players will capture Pokémon and use them during battle), players will work alongside other Pokémon creatures and fight directly. Each dungeon is randomly generated, meaning that no area will ever be the same, and over 490 Pokémon are available to join your team. Much like the original Pokémon titles, both version of this title work together, and hidden Pokémon can be found in each version.

The Pokémon Mystery Dungeon series should be seen as an expansion to the Pokémon universe, but stays away from the tried and true ‘collect them all’ formula of older titles to give players an inventive and novel adventure.
