Synopsis
Rayman’s most renowned platformer is given a portable 3D makeover in this recreation of Rayman 2 on Nintendo 3DS.
Although he may now be best known alongside the mischievous Rabbids in his mini-game spin-offs, Rayman started life in the platforming realm, with Rayman 2 often considered his most successful adventure when first released in the late-nineties. Rayman 3D takes this classic platformer and moves it to Nintendo’s 3D handheld, the Nintendo 3DS, offering an improved visual style alongside crisp and in-depth 3D visuals.
Using the 3DS’s circle pad, players can now make more precise movements as they move across the colourful Rayman environments. 13 regions of Rayman’s world have been recreated in total, each taking on an extra layer of depth thanks to the 3D overhaul. A number of unique Rayman moves have also been remastered, including his ability to fly using his long blonde hair.
Rayman 3D moves one of the Ubisoft’s most successful platfoming titles to Nintendo’s 3D handheld, improving on its visuals with a 3D overhaul and using the handheld’s controls to give players more precise movement.
