Returning to the Nintendo DS, Scrabble Interactive - 2009 Edition gives players the added benefit of precise touch screen controls. As well as the central board game, this 2009 Edition provides a singe player story that moves players from local Scrabble competitions to national events with a light-hearted storyline. Computer controlled opponents slowly progress from lenient competitors to intelligent rivals depending on a player’s chosen skill.

Multiplayer modes allow players to challenge one another locally using the same DS or online, where players can view profiles, statistics and achievements. As well as the traditional version of Scrabble, players can select from numerous variations of the classic word game, including Scrabble hold ‘em, where players can bet against their opponents.
