Synopsis
The Legend of Zelda makes its way onto the DS in this adventure title based on the world of The Wind Waker.
The Legend of Zelda series made a big departure from the norm with its cartoon-like GameCube title The Wind Waker, but is now considered one of the best in the series. Phantom Hourglass takes place after the events of the GameCube title, with Link once again searching to rescue a damsel in distress. It continues the hand-drawn look of the original, but focuses on the unique features of the DS.
Link is now controlled entirely using the DS’s touch screen. Link moves, attacks, picks up objects and talks to people through simple motions on screen, such as swiping across an enemy to swing Link’s master sword. Phantom Hourglass also recreates the vast ocean of Wind Waker, with new islands to explore, which can be reached by sailing and plotting routes on a map using the DS stylus.
The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass somehow manages the feat of packing an entire console Zelda title in Nintendo’s portable device. The result is an epic and absorbing adventure that equals its console brothers in almost every way.
Features
- Make notes, study enemies, or chart a path for their boat to follow while they man the cannons.
- Guide Link through special dungeons to capture the Triforce, or command the forces that oppose him.
