The concept of destructible environments is moved to an entirely new level in this third-person action title based on the surface of Mars.
When first released on the PlayStation 2, first-person shooter Red Faction’s key feature was its destructible environments, allowing players to bring select walls and structures tumbling to the ground. The game was a marvel for its time, but held back by the limitations of the console. Now appearing on far more powerful systems, Red Faction - Guerrilla realises the concept’s potential, allowing players to destroy literately everything in sight, from vehicles to towering skyscrapers.
Dropping the first-person perspective in favour of third-person, Red Faction - Guerrilla lets players roam an open environment, attacking missions in any order they wish while driving outlandish vehicles designed to cause as much damage to surroundings as possible. With this level of destruction now on offer, far more strategic possibilities have been opened up. Players can set ambushes in advance, tear down protective buildings to attack from any angle and alter the environment to their advantage.
Red Faction - Guerrilla manages to fulfil the great potential of the long-running series, giving players unprecedented control over their surroundings.

- Open World Guerrilla Warfare - You decide who, when, where and how to battle. Utilize guerrilla tactics, improvised weaponry, and modified vehicles to lead insurgent attacks on EDF targets. Launch attacks based on your own gameplay style, take on missions in any order you choose, or engage in destructive activities to weaken the EDF’s grip on Mars.
- Strategic Destruction - Use destruction to your tactical advantage, setting ambushes or chain reaction explosions to attack enemy strongholds and permanently modify the game environment. Leverage fully-dynamic physics-based destruction to improvise on the fly: blow holes in a wall or floor to set an ambush or escape, take out a staircase to stop your pursuers, or drive vehicles through blown out walls.
- Evolving undefined then tear through the fully destructible open-world environments swarming with EDF forces, Red Faction resistance fighters, and the downtrodden settlers caught in the cross-fire.
- Multiplayer Combat - There is no place to hide when you put your guerrilla warfare skills to the test in a variety of highly destructive multiplayer combat modes.
