Synopsis

The makers of Empire - Total War go back to the original Total War title in Shogun 2, providing players the same in-depth strategy and focused multiplayer.

Developer Creative Assembly took strategy games in a bold new direction in 2002 with Shogun - Total War, merging large-scale real-time battles with turn-based management. Since then, the series has gone from strength to strength and visited a number of iconic battle locations across history. In Shogun 2 - Total War, the original Total War title returns to Medieval Japan more than ten years later.

Once ruled by a sole government, 16th Century Japan has now split into warring clans. Taking the role of a clan leader, players will take control of their own army to re-unite Japan under their own rule and become the new Shogun. Players can choose from nine different clans in total, gaining experience as they progress to help level up their chosen character. Players can also work through the single player campaign with another friend co-operatively online.

Heading back to the era the long-running series first explored, Shogun 2 - Total War captures the scales and pace of Japan’s 16th Century combat.
