Synopsis

Real-world cars and locations meet dramatic power-ups in this arcade racer from the makers of Project Gotham Racing.

With Project Gotham Racing, developer Bizarre Creations managed to blend the gritty stylings of a driving simulation with responsive handling more in line with an arcade racer. Blur takes this concept one step further, adding a healthy dose of over-the-top power-ups to proceedings while keeping the real-world locations and tracks intact. Racing across, L.A., San Francisco, Spain and the UK, classics sports cars such as the Lotus Exige, Ford GT, BMW M3 and Corvette ZR1 all make an appearance.

Taking inspiration from kart racers such as Mario Kart, each track in Blur has a selection of colourful power-ups scattered across each track, offering players both attacking and defensive powers. Nitro speed boosts, shock attacks, landmines and defensive shields can be stored up and unleashed at any time, quickly turning the tide of a race. These power-ups follow racers online, where they can complete with up to 20 racers and explore the community-driven social network.

Blur mixes the gritty charm of Project Gotham Racing with the power-ups of Mario kart to produce a perfect blend of both arcade and simulation.
