Synopsis
Using the PlayStation Eye, players can interact with their very own virtual pet, seeing them come to life in their own living room.
Though many games have played with the idea of giving players a virtual pet to look after, EyePet is the first to put pets directly into the player’s home. Using the PlayStation Eye and an open space, players can see themselves on screen and interact with EyePet, a fluffy creature full of character who will respond to its owner and interact with them. Players can tickle EyePet by waving their fingers in front of the camera, roll on-screen balls and poke to see it jump into the air.
EyePet’s detailed design allows for a great deal of customisation, letting players dress it up in a variety of clothing and accessories and watch its reaction to the new look. A selection of toys can be placed on screen and controlled using the PlayStation controller.
With the PlayStation Eye, Sony has found a way to let players truly interact with on-screen pets, instilling EyePet with a real sense of personality.
