Synopsis
Atari’s boxing franchise brings its madcap blend of arcade fighting and exaggerated caricatures back to consoles via Nintendo Wii and its motion controls.
Originally a Dreamcast title back in 1999, the Ready 2 Rumble series dropped realism in place of over-the-top, wacky settings and characters, with rapid fighting gameplay that made it one of the console’s most beloved titles. Now returning to consoles after an extended absence, Ready 2 Rumble - Revolution keeps the same wild style, but adds motion controls to matches, allowing players to use the Wii Remote and nunchuk attachment as digital gloves. Built-in speakers and rumble add feedback to each and every punch.
The character line-up for Ready 2 Rumble has always been humorous, but Revolution’s roster is far more topical, with parodies of musicians, film stars and sportsman all making an appearance. Each character has their own specific special moves and combos taken from kung fu and wrestling, as well as boxing. Championship mode lets players create their own boxer and develop them as a fighter through a series of mini-games.
After a long time out of the limelight, the Ready 2 Rumble series returns with the same sense of humour, but more refined controls that use the Wii Remote and nunchuk attachment to their fullest.
