The sports title that proved the capabilities of Nintendo’s motion sensing console sees its own individual release, offering players a collection of colourful sports using the Wii Remote.

Originally packaged with the Nintendo Wii console itself, Wii Sports was the ideal showcase for the capabilities of Nintendo’s console, offering players simple and colourful sports challenges using the Wii Remote. Now available as its own release, Wii Sports still offers the same sporting mini-games and bright visual style.

Five sport types are available to players in total, including tennis, baseball, golf and bowling. Each has been designed to be simple to pick up, allowing players of any skill to compete against others in multiplayer matches. Nintendo’s Wii Remote means basic movements can be matched to each sport, such as swinging a bat in baseball or throwing a ball in bowling. Players can also track their progress in each sport as they play, seeing their scores improve as they work their way towards a professional rank.
