Taking place on a lush tropical island filled with dense forestry and isolated towns, Just Cause was a far cry from the gritty feel of more traditional open world titles. Just Cause 2 builds on this solid foundation by providing a more in-depth world to explore, as well as a host of new vehicles and gadgets to explore it with. Once more players assume the role of Rico Rodriguez, now tracking down former ally Tom Sheldon in the corrupt island nation of Panau.
With a host of high-tech weaponry at his disposal, Rico has free reign of the 400 square mile island, filled with sandy beaches, bitter snow tops and a tightly-packed metropolis. Returning from Just Cause is Rico’s grapple and parachute combination, which allows players to cover huge distances in one leap, high-jack helicopters mid-air or drag opponents from high ledges.
Just Cause 2 creates one of the most dense and varied game environments seen in gaming, providing a host of new toys for players exploit within its confines.
