Synopsis
Players can unleash their dark side in this sequel to Codemaster’s fantasy adventure where players rule over a selection of evil Minions to fulfil their wicked biddings.
A trend of moral-filled titles has entered gaming in recent years, often giving players the opportunity to perform either good or evil deeds as they see fit. In Overlord, the objective was simple: be as evil and vindictive as possible in order to take over the local kingdom. In Overlord II this goal is much the same, but the stakes have been greatly increased, with an empire inspired by the Romans now on the tables for complete rule.
Of course, few Overlords want to get their hands dirty, and so Overlord offered a small band of Minions who would perform a player’s evil biddings and tear through each friendly village as players sat back and enjoyed the show. Minions return in Overlord II, but are now far more intelligent, with the ability to fight in large scale battles and ride magical creature across each environment. Overlord’s tongue-in-cheek humour and light-hearted style make sure events never get too gloomy.
Overlord II gives players more of the same evil-doing and empire conquering as the original, without losing its twisted sense of humour along the way.
