Synopsis

With the surface of Mars now destroyed, the Marauder allies must head underground and face a new threat in this sequel to THQ’s action series.

Originally appearing on Sony’s PlayStation 2 as a sci-fi-infused first-person shooter, the Red Faction series has gone on to tackle a number of gameplay concepts, most notably Red Faction - Guerrilla’s third-person open world destruction. Red Faction - Armageddon takes place after the events of this title, with the Marauder allies now freed from the oppression of the Earth Defence Force. Mar’s atmosphere is now in turmoil, its super-tornados and thunderstorms driving the survivors underground, where a new alien threat rears its head.

Utilizing the impressive physics of previous Red Faction games, players can once again cause huge amounts of destruction as they tear apart each environment using new weaponry such as the Nano Forge. Players can also construct colonist defences to protect their home turf. The Martian underground give players access to entirely new environments, including frozen glaciers and magma-covered caverns.

Red Faction - Armageddon once again sees the series move in a new direction, still keeping the destructive gameplay that made previous titles so rewarding intact.
