The worlds of Nintendo and SEGA meet for another sporting challenge, this time moving to the chilled slopes of the Winter Olympics.

Once pitted against one another on rival consoles, Mario and Sonic now regularly join forces in their own original titles, most notably the mini-games collection of Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games. After the success of their previous outing, the gaming mascots return once more, this time in Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Winter Games. The 2010 games in Vancouver and Whistler form the backdrop for a series of sports-based activities.

A host of SEGA and Nintendo characters are also on hand for each event. Mainstays of the series return, such as Luigi, Tails, Yoshi and Peach, alongside some new faces, including Donkey Kong, Metal Sonic and Bowser Jr. Each and every winter sport has been built with Nintendo’s hardware in mind. On Nintendo Wii, players can combine the Wii Remote, nunchuk attachment and Wii Balance Board in a series of motion-based events, including skating, skiing and snowboarding.

With Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Winter Games, SEGA has once again created a series of simple and rewarding mini-games starring the best of the SEGA and Nintendo mascot catalogue.
