Synopsis
The brilliant mind of Professor Layton and his faithful ally Luke are on the trail of the mysterious Pandora’s Box in this puzzle adventure title from Nintendo.
Professor Layton and the Curious Village was a unique twist on the traditional puzzle game, combing brain teasers and logic games with a compelling storyline and beautiful hand drawn style that ensured the game was a handheld hit. It’s sequel, Professor Layton and Pandora’s Box, sees Layton and Luke join forces once more to solve a series of teasers and find out who or what killed Layton’s friend and mentor Dr. Schrader. The title’s plot takes centre stage this time, with far more voice work and animated cut scenes used to push the story forward.
Alongside its new plot, Pandora’s Box offers upwards of 150 new brain teasers, riddles and puzzles to challenge hardened Layton fans, each following the same light-hearted feel of the original. Using the Nintendo DS Wi-Fi Connection, players can now download further puzzles online.
A surprise hit on Nintendo’s handheld, Professor Layton was a refreshing take on the puzzle game genre, and its more story-driven sequel is no different.
