Four original Sonic Mega Drive titles are squeezed onto one cartridge in this portable collection of the blue hedgehog’s best.

Equalled only by Mario himself, Sonic the Hedgehog is one of the most recognisable characters in gaming today. In the age of SEGA’s Mega Drive, Sonic had a string of classic titles to his name. Sonic Classic Collection places four of Sonic’s most beloved games onto Nintendo DS: Sonic the Hedgehog, Sonic the Hedgehog 2, Sonic the Hedgehog 3 and Sonic & Knuckles.

Each title has been optimised for use on Nintendo’s handheld, but still retains the sense of old school fun the originals provide. Alongside the typical fast-paced side-scrolling gameplay, Sonic Classic Collection now features a save anywhere function, letting players complete each stage at their own pace without the fear of losing progress. A selection of extras for each title has also been included, such as collectable videos and pictures that shine light on Sonic’s retro era.

Sonic Classic Collection offers players four of the best platforming titles to come out of SEGA’s Mega Drive, as well as a number of marked improvements to make each game more accessible.
