Synopsis

A game of galactic proportions, Super Mario Galaxy sees Nintendo’s legendary mascot Mario leave the confines of Earth in his first Princess saving 3D platformer on Wii.

Once again, Bowser is up to his old tricks; at the usually celebratory Star Festival he invades and rips the Princess’ entire castle from the ground, taking it up into space while she is still inside. Mario’s only hope of saving her is Rosalina, the peaceful watcher of the stars, and her magical observatory that travels the whole of space. By taking control of Mario, players will journey across the Universe, visiting galaxies and collecting lost stars from planets within each galaxy.

The gameplay is completely original in Super Mario Galaxy and consists of a new Physics engine that grants each planetoid it’s own gravitational force. Mario must explore many unknown solar systems that usually comprise of a themed land with a large number of planetoids circling it. Completely original tasks lie ahead, and Mario must take on new forms such as Bee Mario, Ice Mario and Spring Mario. Only then can he gain enough stars to restore peace and save the Princess.

With 120 stars to collect across more than 30 galaxies, Super Mario Galaxy is an exciting platformer that will grip and entertain all players.

Features

  • Shake, tilt and point! Mario takes advantage of all the unique aspects of the Wii Remote and Nunchuk controller, unleashing new moves as players shake the controller and even point at and drag items with the pointer.
  • Mario essentially defined the 3-D platforming genre with Super Mario 64, and this game proves once again that he is king. Players perform mind-bending, low-gravity jumps across wild alien terrain as they experience platforming for a new generation.
  • Don’t want to head into space alone? With a second Wi remote, another player can play alongside by pointing at and collecting bits of stardust, then launching them at enemies. The second player can even sweep aside projectiles or stall enemies to help make Mario’s adventure easier.
