Synopsis
Inspired by Italian poet Dante Alighieri’s chilling vision of the afterlife, Dante’s Inferno sees players descend into the depths of Hell and fight to save a loved one.
Alighieri’s classic 13th century poem, The Divine Comedy, is seen by many as the definitive depiction of the Hell, inspiring countless films and games over recent years. Adapting the classic storyline with a more action-orientated twist, Dante’s Inferno tells the story of Dante as he breaches the depths of Hell to save his beloved Beatrice, whose soul was dragged into the afterlife by Lucifer himself.
Dante will need to travel through the nine circles of Hell envisioned by Alighieri: limbo, lust, gluttony, greed, anger, heresy, violence, fraud and treachery. Each circle has been given its own distinct feel, with demons, monsters and the damned populating each area. Combat in Dante’s Inferno has much in common with the fluid mechanics found Devil May Cry and God of War, giving players access to two primary weapons: a Holy cross given to Dante by Beatrice and a scythe taken from Death. An upgrade system allows players to tailor Dante’s moves to their own fighting tastes.
